Double Honey Strainer for Cleaner, Easier Honey Processing
Harvesting the honey is only part of the job. Once honey has been extracted or removed from crushed comb, it needs to be strained before settling, storing or bottling.
The Bee Ware Double Honey Strainer provides beekeepers with a simple, reusable stainless steel solution for this important stage of honey processing.
The double-strainer design provides effective honey filtering while the expandable supports make the unit practical to position over an appropriately sized collection bucket or container.
For beekeepers who previously relied on cloth or muslin for straining, a purpose-made honey strainer can make the process considerably more convenient.
Why Choose the Bee Ware Double Honey Strainer?
- Double-strainer design for effective honey filtering
- Stainless steel construction
- Expandable or retractable supports for practical positioning over a collection container
- Suitable for extracted honey and crush-and-strain harvesting
- Reusable for successive honey harvests
- Compact 23 × 23 × 11 cm unpackaged size
- Highly rated by Bee Ware customers
- Suitable for beginner, hobby and experienced beekeepers
Customers particularly mention the strainer being easy to use, quick to work with and easy to clean, including those using the crush-and-strain method.
How to Use a Double Honey Strainer
Position the strainer securely over a clean, suitable honey bucket or collection container.
Pour harvested honey into the upper strainer gradually and allow the honey to pass through the double-strainer system into the container below.
Avoid adding honey faster than it can drain through the strainer.
Once filtering is complete, remove the strainer and clean it thoroughly before storing it ready for the next harvest.
Helpful Harvesting Tip
Honey flows more slowly when it is cold. Straining honey in normal warm honey-processing conditions can make the process easier without needing to overfill the strainer.

Double Honey & Multi-Purpose Stainless Steel Strainer
Your Double Honey Strainer can also be a surprisingly useful piece of processing equipment around the home, smallholding or food-production workspace.
Its stainless steel double-strainer design and expandable supports make it suitable for filtering a variety of liquids and materials, including
melted beeswax,
herbal infusions,
fruit juices,
syrups,
coffee,
plant-based milks and cooking oils
provided the mesh is suitable for the material being filtered.
For beekeepers, one particularly useful second job is cleaning melted beeswax before candle making, moulding or further wax processing.
Important: Keep strainers used for food and honey separate from those used with non-food materials.
- Beeswax processing — filtering melted wax to remove bee parts, propolis fragments and other debris before moulding or candle-making. This is probably the best Bee Ware-adjacent secondary use.
- Fruit juice and pulp straining — useful for citrus, berries and other fruit preparations where pulp, seeds or coarse solids need to be separated.
- Herbal infusions — filtering herbs, leaves and plant material from larger batches of teas, tincture-style water infusions or botanical preparations. Fine stainless strainers are commonly used for this purpose.
- Coffee and cold-brew filtration — separating coffee grounds from larger prepared batches, subject to the actual mesh being fine enough. Similar double honey strainers are specifically marketed for coffee filtration.
- Nut and plant milk preparation — filtering soybean milk and potentially other plant-based liquids after blending or cooking. This is another documented secondary use for this form of strainer.
- Clarifying melted butter or cooking fats — separating solids from melted butter, rendered fat or used cooking oil. Again, similar products are explicitly sold for this purpose.
- Jam, jelly and preserve preparation — separating seeds, peel and coarse fruit matter before further processing.
- Syrups and cordial making — filtering herbs, spices, fruit solids or zest from homemade syrups.
- Stocks and broths — removing bones, vegetables, herbs and smaller suspended solids from larger volumes.
- Home brewing — potentially useful for removing hop matter, grain fragments, fruit pulp or botanicals from beer, cider, mead or similar preparations, although suitability depends heavily on the actual mesh size.

To date we have been using muslin to strain our honey. Having used strainers before I wanted to introduce a quicker and more effective the method of straining. The stainless steel strainer is ideal. Its quick even with two thicknesses of strainer, keeps the flow moving and easy to clean
